Sultans and Mughals

About Book - Very weil known sources on the Sultans and Mughals are basically military biased and seldom mention other important constituents of the Apparatuses of the Sultanat and the Mughal Empire. In order to fill this glaring gap in our knowledge about such entities, some new sources and archival documents have been unearthed, pin-pointed and translated here in English from Persian and Urdu to study and evaluate their lives, careers and achievements vis-a-vis the history of those bases of the above mentioned very few known, mostly unknown or insufficiently known personalities where their families and relatives generally resided while they remained posted in the far flung areas of the Sultanat, Mughal Empire, the Successor States, colonial ruiers and lastly in Independent India and to which they occasionally returned on leave or retirement etc.
An account of the forefathers of the Kirmani Oonamis has been added towards the end from Habib-us-Siyar of Khwand Mir, which enlightens us with their lives and achievements to serve as a background material for the careers of their descendants.
The present Volume contains translations of Tazkirah Farooqiyan-i-Alam, Nasbnamah Nami Shaikhzadgan Oonami, A qasbati Tarikh, Nasbul Mazahir, Nafhat-un-Nasim & Habib-us-Siyar, Vol. Ill, Part ill (Aal-i-Muzaffar).

 

About Author - Dr. Hamid Afaq Qureshi (b 2.7.1945), M.A. (History), M.A. (Pol.Sc.) & Ph.D. (History) is a well known Historian, who has published 93 research papers on various aspects of History of India in reputed Journals and Proceeding Volumes of History Congresses and Seminars. He helped 6 research scholars in completing their Ph.Ds. He was Joint Secretary, U.P. History Congress (1985-88) and a Member of the Executive Committees of the South Indian History Congress (1988) and U.P. History Congress (1989).
