Khwand Mir's Habib-us-Siyar 1501-1524 AD

About Book - The present book is mostly a summarised and the rest a literal English translation from Persian of Khwand Mir's Habib-us-Siyar dealing with the fall of the successors of Amir Timur Sahib- i-Qaran during early Sixteenth Century (1501-1524) and the rise of the Uzbegs and the Safawi Dynasty in Central Asia to understand our own Indian History better and with proper background material at hand as political changes, upheavels and upsurges in Central Asia always casted a momentous influence on the Indian Subcontinent and its History. It is in continuation of my earlier book 'Central Asia in Fifteenth Century (1405-1500)' published in 2007 and thus forms the second volume of that book.

It also contains corrections to the account of the Ghaznavides from the Habib-us-Siyar as given in the translation published by Elliot and Dowson in their work 'History of India as told by its own Historians', Vol. IV. Since they had not published the account of the Salatin-i-Ghor and the rulers of Khwarizm contained in Habib-us-Siyar, the same is being published here.

The added attraction of this book is the incorporation of all the important genealogies of the Muslims right from the days of Hazrat Adam Aleh. down almost to our times in order to cross check so many such genealogies available to us from diverse sources and a list of the Newspapers published and the Molanas and the Sufis, who took part in our Freedom struggle against the Colonial Power.
